watched "Midnight in Paris" for the third time last night.
actually i first rerun it two nights ago, on 1 am in the morning, because i was too hungry and couldn't sleep. but i only got to half of the movie... so i watched it again last night. it was a light movie, very amusing, and it showed me Paris. the city i long for to live in.
i cried as i watched Gil meeting Gabrielle at the bridge, and then rain started to fall and he said, "you don't mind walking in the rain?" or something like that. and the angelic-faced Gabrielle smiled and said, "no, in fact, Paris is the most beautiful when it's raining." and then the two of them walked together, soaking wet.

how does it feel like to have your dreams come true? for your banal, noone-understands-why-you-want-it-but-you-want-it-anyway kind of wish to be granted?

as i drenched in tears, i glanced away from the tv screen and i saw the pictures of my baby and my family which happened to be right under the screen. it stroke me to thinking "what am i crying for? i have my whole exciting, too-good-to-be-true, life right in front of me. why should i long to be someplace else?"

i guess maybe that's a message the movie conveys: happy is now. love is here.

like what Gil said to Adriana when they're in La Belle Époque: "Adriana, if you stay here though, and this becomes your present then pretty soon you'll start imagining another time was really your... You know, was really the golden time. Yeah, that's what the present is. It's a little unsatisfying because life's a little unsatisfying."
let's make good use of what we have right here, right now. i guess so.
