jagged little pills

i first wrote it on a sunday runny-nose-y sunday. sunday with-the-shitty-fever sunday. oh yeah, and the-itchy-throat sunday.

but hey, everyday above ground is supposed to be a happy day, right? hahah (tertawa kering).

how 'bout narrowing down things that happened, my feelings, ramblings, etc into a list?

- this past week, i've been having a mixture of not-so-positive feelings. i felt bored. alone. pessimistic. i saw no light at the end of the tunnel whatsoever. i found it hard to relate well with people. i felt hungry for inspiration but i indulged myself to all sorts of unproductive activities, instead. like gluing my eyes on tv. laying awake on the bed 'til 1-2 am. spending my time doing nothing. i didn't write, i didn't read.
but, luckily, nothing lasts forever. nor does the gloomy episode. things start to feel lighter now. i think that was PMS. hence, here i am, blogging.

- i accidentally found my 2013 resolutions on a random notebook. wonder why i hadn't treated it more sacredly. anyways, i noticed some of the things that i hoped for gradually turn into reality. like,
"jadi ibu rumah tangga saat bumy mulai sekolah." checked.
"tinggal di rumah dengan kamar sendiri untuk bumy, toiletnya layak, bentuknya cluster, ada halamannya, di jakarta selatan." alhamdulillah. guess it really never hurts to be a detailed person.
"mulai volunteering rutin minimal 2 kali sebulan." working on it.
i also revised some things that i thought no longer "relevant." at least for now it isn't. it's okay to revise your resolutions in the middle of the year, right? i mean, everyone does that.

- bokap nyokap spent two nights staying at our house. on a grumpy note: why should my mom wash the dishes all the time? padahal udah ada embak.
'cause now i kinda feel obligated not to say no anymore whenever she tells me to wash the dishes at mrican. ugh.
anyways, we had a good time here, looking at printed photos of our almost-quite-well-documented lives. yeah, i went to adorama like a week ago and printed almost 500 photos, from bumy's first days on earth to our most recent bandung vacation. and yeah, their visit was kinda stale because i didn't take bokap nyokap anywhere. i mean, there's A) the friggin' flu, B) adit the model son-in-law, was in bandung for his office outing. i just didn't have the energy to take them places. but they're happy just to be with their dearest cucu lah. bokap juga sempat kongkow di pemancingan segala.

- went to parents' school simulation day at bumy's school. it was totally unexpected! the school gave us parents notification letters on parents' and teachers' meeting. we all thought we were to be given reports about how well (or bad) our kids had been doing at school. but instead, we parents got to know what it's like to be murid playgroup for a day. very creative, i must say. the credit goes to the school.
during the simulation, the teachers treated us like we were our kids. they told us to sing (and dance! just like how the kids love to do it, haha), do the routines (like circle time to say a prayer), brain gym, do the tata krama montessori (that's just how i call it), and then, we were given the chance (or task?) to make our own handcrafts. just like our kids do on their schooling session. it was funnn. we parents laughed, and chatted relaxedly with each other and the teachers. we also ate together before school time was over--again, just like the kids do it.
by the end of the day, the teachers open a discussion or sharing session. it gives a heartwarming insight and also knowledge on how to deal with our... smart, creative, curious, beloved little darlings.

- i made it to the "basic makeup lesson" class tia enrolled me to. haha, oh such nice friends i have (teringat lia yang mendaftarkan diri ini ke seminar bu elly, kekeke). i still don't know whether i should be offended or thankful towards her (tia, i mean). it was at helena brigitta studio, at fatmawati. the class went for almost 6 hours. i think i've known some of the basic stuff she taught, nevertheless, it's nice to broaden my knowledge. i mean, now i get to know the function of each brush on my brush kit (which consists of more than 20 brushes!).

- fascinated by turkey. the country, of course. it's because i stumbled upon (*stalking* i was NOT) my neighbour's instagram account. they just had a trip there, and i fell head over heels for the beauty. a two-weeks summer vacation trip turkey is now on my wishlist.

- been almost a month without path. so far, it's been okay. at times, it does tickle me to make an update or two. well, it's not that i'm off from all social medias. i still use twitter and instagram, and blogger obviously.

but i just find path too distracting. for me. it distracts me from savoring the moment. it makes me want to make an update after another. and none of them mattered. just some boring, mundane, stuff one compels to make on facebook, actually.
i make those boring, mundane ramblings on twitter and instagram, still. but, not all the time. because the environment is just not that... inviting to do such stuff. i mean, my twitter timeline is filled with more useful and/or interesting info than the mundane ones. so i'm not too encourage to make too many silly, useless posts. also on instagram, i only post stuff i think at least quite interesting to be edited, because it took an effort. hehe.

still on path's distracting factor, well, it's kind of an ego display. one twitter account i follow once said, "so path is where i can brag about my life without looking like an asshole? yay. fun." (he said it sarcastically of course. i know 'cause, i'm kinda strict about my following list, hehe.) most users use the app to display the daily, boring, life of oneself; but i just couldn't stop noticing it.
i think some users use it an ego-booster because what they post only focuses on the good quality one thinks one has, or the good time one wants to think one would always have; also, there's rarely any useful info or insightful thought; and the combination of all those stuff more often make me feel nauseated or envious than empathetic or inspired.

of course not ALL path users are there to brag. only the ones who think they have better lives than the rest of their contacts, actually. haha, kidding. well, some people did have path accounts to be more intimate with their friends and family.

for me, i can read the more intimate version of their lives from their blogs, or by meeting them in person. also, i think there's no point in getting "love"s or some frowns upon the song you're listening, if what you need is a meaningful conversation, or an inspiration.

- oh great, and now that boring speech on how i'm not on path anymore is making me forget what else to write. all i can think of is how hungry i am now.
