friendly fires

it's almost been a month since bumy's first birthday :D weww and i've been owing myself (and bumy too, maybe. please don't be too hard on me when you grow up, kid) to document the aforementioned event. seperti pernah gue tulis di blog post sebulan lalu, gue menginginkan acara syukuran sekaligus a get-together yang small-scale, intimate, affordable, with good food and good ambience (was i that specific?). hence the intimacy, gue cuma punya daftar undangan yang pendek. i mean, i wanted the attendees to be people with whom i'd like to share my commemoration and gratitude of being a mother.. yea for a whole year through! hahaha, knowing me, i know they'd get my overrating of such event. this was me, taking care of a baby. i couldn't even take care myself well as a single lady :D self-centered me, going through sleepless nights, colicky days, and BEING a parent. i know they'd pat my shoulder for barely surviving.

i was minimally prepared, i found the 'perfect' venue just a week before the occassion. luckily i remembered to have husband check the availability, book the place and date, and settle seat arrangements (to get a nice corner in the cafe). i tried making an invitation, a personalized cute-yet-artistic (okay at least decent laa) one.. by using purpletrail.com hahaha. i worked on it for a week long, and then i ended up forgetting to send them by email on friday -__- so i just texted my buddies (buddies so close that they wouldn't care if they're not being 'formally' invited), and spoiled my wish list hehe.

on D-day at 10 am, i remembered thinking to myself, God would it be too much? i hate feeling lebay at the end of the day. but i should just go for it and not let my mood get in the way. anyways it's not all about me, it's for bumy as well. so at 12, we arrived there, and i found out i forgot to bring the party's souvenirs. no back up plans, so no souvenirs hehe. adit bought the cake at harvest, simply a few meters away from the venue.  
not long after, friends started to roam in, laughters shared, babies passed from one arm to another, meals catered, and then the candle was blown. i had a really good time, and i think so did most of my friends. we had not gathered for quite some time, it became a nice chance to meet up and catch up. and thank God nuri was kind enough to bring her own made cupcakes, yaay, so i was kinda giving them to some of my friends as souvenirs :D

and so we called it day, mission accomplished. thanks bumy, husband, and dear friends for making it happen to me. and of course, happy birthday, son! hahaha....
